| BARE | Final Curated Post

Bedroom - The initial space i created and the inspiration
for the further models, the pitched ceiling, skylight, large
door opening and simple shape were all used as
further inspiration.

I decided to test out some materials for the next designs and
this model (nest) was my pick of the few i made, i however
realised overall i preferred the use of shape and space
over materials
Laser cut model - This model represents the transition space
from the entry of my house ou

This model (gallery) was an iterative model in which i went
back to more simple shape with focus on proportion and
how the space would light up, the back wall takes slight
inspiration of James Turrell's works.
3D Model - For my 3D model i decided to render it with a matte
black powder-coat and then a polished brass core. The hard wearing
texture made more sense as the outer as it protects the polished inside.

These 2 works i rendered in materials that were some of my
favourites, I stuck away from any patterned or geometric
however as to not detract from the light and shadow.

This was my final render and i included an environment as
well. I initially had a more textured environment however that
took away from the sandstone and building so i paired it back
to more simple textures which blend in with each other.
Initial spatial Render including environmental features.

Refined Environment render, simplified the textures and
tweaked the perspective to keep the focus on the model itself.
Sandstone Roof and Floor.

For the two models above i used some simple textures
including, wood, rusted steel and timber, these are all
materials that i personally like together, they also
still allow the models shape to breathe and for the shadow and
light to still play its part.

Further Lighting Experimentation

Using different forms of lighting to test which gets a better
result and testing how distance affects the edges of shadows

Playing around with the distance of light source as well
as how the angle can change the space even without a huge
amount of places for the light to enter.

Laser Cut Model - Form

3D Initials - Brass with Black

For my material render of my initials i decided to use a powder-coated black shell
with a polished brass core, i enjoy the contrast of the matte, dark surface to the
much lighter polished internal and the hardy black surface almost acts as a
preservation of the polished core.
